Ignoring fleas will only make them more expensive to get rid of. You probably have an infestation in your home already.
Did you know dogs get tapeworms from fleas? Can even get anemic from blood loss?
Many vets will sell you one vial of flea preventative for about $12.
What are you doing about heartworm prevention? That is something that can't be ignored, either. |

I agree with this post 100 percent. Preventing fleas is part of being a responsible pet owner. Your poor baby is being eaten alive by this pesty parisite and it can make your dog very ill. Has she been treated for possible worms or anything? You kept stating that she hasnt seen a vet. Does that mean she hasnt seen one at all or just since youve had her? Is she up to date on her shots? That is all stuff you should of take inconsideration when you aquired her. Im not trying to be harsh, just stating facts. Also, if your dog has fleas then your house has fleas.. and once they get into your carpets, furniture etc.. they are VERY hard to get rid of. You may have to resort to flea bombing your house, all which is way more expensive than a monthy flea prevenative that you can buy one tube at a time from your vets. I would highly advise you take your dog to the vets.
