Just remember pet insurance doesn't work like our does where you just show your card. Vets, especially ER vets and specialists, require you to pay your bill upfront. You have to submit the forms to your insurance company and wait to be reimbursed.

It is recommended that when you buy your puppy, you have a special account already set up with at least the equivalent of his purchase price in it and add to it monthly.

Just read the Sick and Injured section to see how many people aren't financially prepared for unexpected vet bills.
