I know what you mean. I fed my Lucy Purina Puppy Chow for a long time because that is what the breeder had her on and she wouldn't eat anything else. I finally put her on a higher protein 'better' food ~ TOTW and come to find out she has liver issues. TOTW had way too much protein for her. I actually did her a disservice by switching foods. Now she's on NB Vegetarian - which I'm not thrilled about but so far so good. Sometimes, you just have to go with what works for you and your dog.
I probably wouldn't try changing your little one's food until things have settled down for some time. Then you might want to try something else. Mine eventually tire of something once they have eaten it for several months.
Did her liver check out ok?
