skin and hip issues We have a 1 1/2 year old yorkie and just rescued a 9 year old yorkie last week.
The 9 year old is a sweetheart but whoever had him before didn't take very good care of him. The poor thing hasn't been on a very healthy diet, didn't get exercised very much, and has a problem with "hot spots"-licks his tummy and paws when he is laying down, his hair is very thin all over.
We have taken him to the vet and had him tested for worms and mange-all clear. He is on vitamins and the fish oil for his diet, and antibiotic.
He also has issues with his back legs-I don't even want to think of what may have happened, but is there anything we can do to help him with this? If anyone has recommendations I would appreciate it. Marley (1 1/2 ) was a rescue but he was in good shape. Poor Bobby has obvious health issues, so anything you can advise for joints, skin, fur, etc, would be helpful. |
