Innova food and Maya So I have two, in case you don't know me, a sturdy girl of 3, Mika weighing in at just under 10 pounds, and a tiny Maya around 4. Reading on yorkie talk I had gleened that this Innnova food was really good, so of course, only the best for my girls, I started using this. The part that puzzles me is Maya did fine on it for quite some time.
Then you might remember that she started this mysterious illness that I came to you guys about. I have to add that right about this time, I was not only using Innova, but I had decided that they need "variety" so I was trying the different Innova flavors , like salmon for example.
So ensued (in just Maya, I think Mika has a cast iron stomach), this clear vomiting, followed by diarhhea, no eating, and so so so sick and crying. We did every test under the sun, which she tested negative for addisons, and I was just miserable.
Well finally, my vet/girlfriend noted that Maya was never sick at her house when I would go on my trips. She had me to get her the same dog food, Purina One small bites, take Maya off of all the fancy treats I bought at the same fancy dog food store I got the Innova at, and so far, no sickness in Maya.
My other girlfriend from Arkansas was visiting, and I asked her if she wanted the rest of this large (and expensive) bag of Innova for her daughter's PekiPom...
She called yesterday and said Butterscotch loved it, devoured it, and then had diarrhea.
Now don't get me wrong, I am not here to knock Innova. I'm just thinking , that maybe for SOME dogs, it a little too rich, or hard to digest or something.
I know I feel like such a fool for all Maya has been through, and I am just putting this out there in case someone else is having the same problem. We are what we eat.
