Oh that's horrifying. I like the previously mentioned take your dog out on a leash or maybe you could set up not sure what they are called but like a dog run in your yard that has a cover so your little one can potty in peace.
We have coyotes here. I here them howling every night, but have yet to see one. We also have hawks, but haven't seen one in my area this year.
