My dog had something similar... itching, flaking, oozing spots. I started her on coconut oil and Alaskan wild salmon oil mixed in with her food, and coconut oil applied topically to any sores. In 2 months, she has considerably less flaking, doesn't itch, and no sores. She weighs about 10 lbs, I give her 1/2cc coconut oil twice daily, and the dose of salmon oil that's listed on the label. I started her on half doses, then worked up to the dose I mentioned, by the 3rd week. Also I use shampoo and conditioner on her that contains coconut extract, and let the conditioner soak in a bit. Too much coconut oil can cause diarrhea, if that happens, cut the dose back.

Don't use products with Tea tree oil in them.... they can be toxic.
