I'm not sure where I first saw the definition, but this is what I found now. Actually the definitioln, might be on the AKC site.

As for the Biewer, they do require a specific placement of color. We do not. random is random. But perhaps we should make that clear in our written standard, that there is no specific pattern required nor is there a certain percentage of color required. One spot would do it.
