Sorry to hear poor little guy had tapeworms. Sissy had them when we first got her. She was very skinny. Once we has her dewormed she began to gain weight. She still ate the same amount but gained weight-those nasty tapeworms had been getting all the nutrition. Her poop was soft after the medication also but firmed back up in a few days.
