She makes it 8 hours at a time and even now that we have stairs she usually wont get down till DBF or I are up. If only the rest of her potty training went so well!

Then again my best friend has a 5 month old Goldendoodle who she's had since he was 8 weeks old (i know way too early!!!) and he can't even sit on the bed without peeing. But he's slept every night in the crate.

I love Britster's suggestion about the crate on the bed. I feel like once they realize they have to hold it in order to snuggle they will do whatever it takes to make it their own. It's like a human crate.
You're not a bad mommy at all! My feeling is--you know your dog! Jackson began sleeping on the bed with me outside of his crate (he was in the crate from 9 weeks-15ish weeks ON the bed) and that was the first night he totally slept through the night fine and has never pottied on the bed... so I was totally fine with it! Jackson also had pretty much free roam of the house since 4 1/2 months old because he was always trustworthy. Alot of people would probably think I'm being a bad mommy but he has never once to this day chewed, pooped, peed, or messed up anything while no one was home (when we ARE home was/is a different story!!) so we all know what our dogs are capable of!
