Be very careful about purchase a dog for less than the "current" market value.
Ask yourself why? Ask them why? My suggestion to you is to do your research. Find out all you can about the breed. Interview the breeder/sellers:
Ask to see the location of which your new pet living and sleeping quarters.
Get the history of the parents. If your pup is AKC, ask for AKC litter registration, As to get copies with the purchase of the dog. Thoroughly examine your pup on site. Open the puppy’s mouth look inside. Look at his gums are they the proper color? Are the teeth in and clean? Free from parasites? Are the teeth formed correctly? Is the pup ears up? Is the hair removed in the inner ear? Stand the pup correctly? Check out the way he moves? Do it look correct? Is the back bone straight or has a deep? How old is the puppy? How old are the parents? How long have they (the breeder) been in the business of breeding? Do they have any references? What is their experience with breeding or just with raising Yorkshires? See the shot records. Ask for detail of the litter, such as who handled the matting. Is the male the breeder’s dog? Is this your dog first litter?
Don’t just see a price and pretty words like baby doll face, “tea-cup” tiny ex-small and a cute picture and buy. Please let’s work to stamping out puppy mills and ignorance. Yes, my champion puppies are going to cost more because of the dog's pedigree. His bloodlines stem from years of dedication and proven standards according to the breed govern by the American or Canadian Kennel Clubs. It's not just two stray dogs thrown together that we have no idea about their history toss together and viola~ yorkies! A dog club is the place to meet experts on your breed of dog and learn the fine art of showing your dog and participating in shows or just taking your little fur ball for a stroll to the mailbox.
