My friend is a sweetheart and I really do think she was overly frustrated and afraid to tell me because she knows how upset I'd get and how I'd worry. This has been a horrible ordeal for our friendship as well. She was told by the vet that it was a shelter tied to a rescue and they worked very hard to find a home for these animals. I wish she'd been up front with me. I'm not sure what will happen to our friendship. But that's something we'll work on ourselves outside of this situation.
Guinness is a very stubborn dog. I've told the rescue several times that he's been aggressive because I know she wouldn't lie about that. I don't want him to be put with a family he could hurt but I know he has the potential to be a very good family member to someone.
He's going to be out of the shelter by tomorrow. They've been in contact with my vet here and there is nothing to hide. Had I known the severity of her situation I'd have done this way before now.
Thank you to EVERYONE. I really appreciate all the effort put in. |
So good to hear he's safe. You sound like a wonderful friend, and very understanding, but I hope you can communicate to your friend that honesty is one of the main requirements in true friendship, even if that honesty sometimes hurts.
