I have introduced several new pets into my house over the years. My animals (both cats and dogs) usually take one or two weeks and then become fast friends with a new pet.

They usually act jealous or fearful of a new pet. Either way, it usually takes very little time before they become friends.

I think it's important that you stay right in the middle of everything and spend individual time with all your pets. Let them see you interacting with and enjoying the new pet. Invite them often to play with you together. Don't let anyone be left out. Don't force togetherness.

Giving treats -- "One for you - and one for you - and one for you - and one for you (back and forth) often helps them learn to enjoy and tolerate being close to one another. We know our they will do almost anything for food/treats.

Good luck!
