I am so sorry for your loss. I had to put my 8 yr old black lab to sleep this past Monday and I'm heartbroken as well. I know exactly what you mean when you say your house is lonely and you feel like you could have done things differently and that you didn't protect her. That is exactly how I feel and I think that is completely normal as a parent. But you did all that you could for her and you gave her a better chance than maybe someone else wouldn't have. Everything you said is exactly how I'm feeling at this moment about my dog...all the memories and things you miss that you know she'd be doing if she were here. But she is no longer in pain and you did the best for her you could do. I'm so sorry for your loss and my heart breaks for you. I cried when I read your post. I also have 6 yr old yorkie so that has helped me...I hope you are doing ok.
