There are SOO many different opinions on every subject, they can all be represented, please let this forum serve that purpose. To let people read good and valuable information and use it to their advantage.
I think you made a very good point Wnalegria. I would like to have become a part of quite a few discussions, but did not wish to enter a bad situation as most of these controversial threads turn into. I don't really think that should happen, especially to newcomer's.
We can all share our opinions, and back up our reasoning, continuing to keep YT an awesome forum right? |
I sure hope that we can. Many of us who are long of tooth will tell you how we learned. The hard way. We all had mentors who shared the same info that we share with you- being young and know it alls we tried doing our own thing sometimes with terrible results. We don't want the same thing to happen to you. We care about you. That is why many have concerns about some of the advice that is given.
Medical advancements make some procedures less frightening then in the 70's 80's and 90's. But the bottom line is what is right for our dog and the benefit of the breed. IMO you either love this breed and want to protect and promote it or you find another one. For example do you want poor quality dogs bred so that in ten years you can not tell them from a mixed breed. You purchse this breed and any other purebred dog because you like the look, and characteristics of that breed.
We can share our thoughts , back up our reasoning, and not turn every thread into a discussion that is just one persons ongoing soapbox. What is it Dr. Phil states" It ain't about you."
