From what I understand his dad is a real prize as well. He is a holocaust denier-BIG TIME-- and only accepts Mass in Latin-NO Vatican II stuff for him and HIS family!!! But it was O.K. to move the family to Australia so his sons wouldn't be drafted to Viet Nam (elder Gibson and family are originally from the U.S.). So much stuff I think was instilled in Mel by his upbringing, but that is NO excuse for his horrible behavior as an adult. You'd think that he would have become more enlightened over the years.
Another fun fact : Kenny Wayne Shepherd (young blues guitarist extraordinaire) is Mel's son-in-law. How 'bout THAT for a FIL?!
