I just read this whole thread and I am so sorry for your loss it is hearbreaking.
We live and learn the hard way sometimes. Some things are out of our hands and we cannot do anything

I rarely get on Yt anymore because of posts that are posted when someone comes on for help or assistance and are a novice or very uneducated , not thinking etc.
I usually help through PM and no posts.
