It's legal in America, and lots of people on this site have docked tails personally.
It's fine that you have strong opinions, and I am truly sorry if you've had extra difficulties in your life trying to get medication. That sounds really unpleasant.
What I'm saying is that if you disagree with something, it is kinder, and generally more effective to explain your position than to condemn people you disagree with. If you said simply, "I think this is wrong, for x, y, and z reasons", I think it's easier for people to hear you, and more gracious. I just felt you were coming on pretty strong. That's all.
