I don't have this problem simply because I allow Jackson access to wherever I am. I think he would go nuts too if locked away or not able to sleep with me... I don't see a problem with it but maybe that's just me. Bailey was brought up thinking these things were okay, and now they're suddenly not, so he's probably confused.
He is probably very confused and needs extra leadership. Changing the rules requires re-training using positive reinforcement.

I'm currently reading Victoria Stilwell's "It's Me or the Dog: How to Have the Perfect Pet" and I highly recommend it to the OP. It's an easy and fun read.
