They stay frozen until i set them out for the next feeding. it works great, it's simple enough, and it's the most natural thing a canine carnivore could eat IMO. i'm fine with the home cooking thing, but i prefer to give it in a raw more natural state. i feel that cooking takes out some of the vitamins and minerals and the natural quality of the meal. and kibble takes cooking it several steps further in the processing. it's kinda like that with what i eat. i would much rather eat corn straight from the cob from my garden than the stuff preserved in a can...i eat freezer corn we put up ourselves rather than buy it...and that's just me. natural, wild, and the way you find it. granted i don't eat raw meats, but that's because i'm human and have the ability to cook my own foods. my dogs eat raw because in the wild they'd simply have to do that. makes sense in my own logic and research backs it up. even several of the vets in my office are fine with it and/or agree with it.

sorry for the long shpeal. it's all about what we feel is right. same with raising children. what i think is best won't be what MIL or even my own mama think is best. but u do what you think is right because ur the mama in charge

if i ever have a reason to honestly believe raw food is causing upset stomach issues or bacterial infections for Sadie i'd stop doing it, but even the vets each time have said it was not the raw diet that caused the bacteria to develop and rather something else environmental.
I certainly wasn't criticizing your choice to feed raw. I was commenting on your statement that you were contemplating switching to kibble.

i'm thinking maybe canidae or arcadia. maybe something along those lines.
