We did last year for 10 days. Really enjoyed it. FYI - It is not a "beach-centric" type of vacation....
Had the best fish sandwich of my life at Craig's Restaurant in Islamorada. The place is not much to look at, but oh my the fish sandwich is to die for! Definitely stop there on the drive down.
One more suggestion.... in the afternoon, take the Westin's water taxi over to Sunset Key for lunch. If you do not stay there you can not use the beach, but you can enjoy a fabulous lunch and relaxing boat ride over... it is a beautiful spot
