Then I take the emergency supply with me in my purse, or hand luggage. I also pack in my purse my favourite brush n comb, show leads, Vellus anti static spray and a bow or two - in case our luggage gets lost. Of course their favourite treats too

Make sure your crates fit the guideline for underseat storage, each airline can have slightly different rules. Also when you go through security you have to take your dog out of the carrier and carry him through security, then pack him up again in his carrier. I have a shoulder bag carrier, so I can pack his combs/brushes n things in the side pockets.

I also had his certificates, rabies, his registration papers, his vet name etc. Consider travel insurance for your doggie too. Actually for you too. Hospital stays in the states are quite expensive and OHIP or Quebec Health care plan will not cover a whole bunch of stuff. Consider having attached to his crate his health information and most importantly if you and Denis are incapacitated who has the authority to act on your pet's behalf. A copy of your pet insurance should go in that pouch. Overkill? Umm not if something bad happens.

Now I have one of those hose thingies, but my hubby is paranoid about installing same into an hotel room, last time I travelled by air, I just used the bathtub and or sink, used the ice bucket thingie to wet and rinse Razz man. It really wasnt' too bad. I groomed him ontop of the counter in the washroom. Take lots of poo bags with you. Emergency kit for you and your beasties. If you want some ideas for emegency kit you can pm me.

Have fun .. so exciting to plan ahead.
Great tips Gail, I rewatched my DVD's of the 2010 specialty this past February and it got me kind of excited about going....can't wait !
