Bear, the big dog, usually lifts. But sometimes he'll just stand, stretch ever so slightly and pee while standing straight up. If it's dark or you're not watching, you'd never know. You said Mango stands and then starts walking. Maybe he is doing a tiny little pee and you just aren't noticing?
Baxter literally finds his shrub, jumps to try to get as high as he can before he lands and lifts. He also tries to mark over Bear. Considering Baxter weighs 10lbs and Bear weighs 80lbs, meaning big height difference, this can get very weird. Bear will be lifting on a bush and while going, Baxter will go to the opposite side, leap, land and go at the same time. Sometimes this means that instead of being the 'bigger man' and leaving his mark on top of Bear's he just gets peed on by Bear.... dummy....
