Glad to hear she is ok. you are definitely not a bad mom. No one would expect a short pee break walk would have that effect, even in 85 degree weather. What you did when you got back inside proves you are a great mom. You saw she was hot and stressed and you tried to make her comfortable and cool her down. Even with the seizure, you kept your cool and got her to the vet. You did a great job, and did nothing wrong by taking her outside for those few minutes. This thread, while an emotional wreck for you, is a great lesson for everyone else. Every dog is different and the heat effects some more then others.

Another note, since she gets so excitable by just putting on her harness maybe you can try putting it on at various times of the day and NOT taking her for a walk. Ignore her crazy antics and walk away. when she calms down, wait a few more minutes, and then take the harness off. By doing this she might stop being so reactive to the harness because it doesn't always mean she's gonna go outside for a walk.
