What is the Operating System? Vista or XP?
I'd like to see if she can do a system restore on her computer. It can restore the computer back to a point where the computer is more functional. At that point she may be able to install/run an antivirus program.
When you try to install the recovery disk. Do you turn the computer on with the disk already in it? That should allow the computer to boot up in recovery mode.
Worse case scenario is take it to Best Buy and have the Geek Squad look at it to see what they can do. I really think this can be fixed, but you need to be patient. |
