Who gives the interview and information about hte breed being sold? How are the puppies raised? How could the breeder ever do this and not know where that puppy went, will it end up abused, neglected, not cared for? Is there a home visit at the buyers? A pet store never does all this background work before selling a puppy and who takes it back if it doesn't work out? Ends up inthe pound or killed at the vets is my bet.
I agree 100% with what you just said - I was just posting about my conversations with the girl I talk to when I'm there and do believe her - she was pretty passionate that the minute she saw or heard about any mistreatment of the dogs they occasionally get she OR if the place bought from a questionable souce she would quit.

It's a sad fact that breeders DO sell to pet stores. The cycle will never end until people push harder and harder to change and regulate how living creatures are sold but it's all about the $.

In the case of this little place - I don't like it but I do believe they care for the puppies when they have them. I've even seen one of them sitting with the puppies playing and that is NEVER a fact at Pethell or most petstores.

Most of the time I'm there - the big 'open pen' where I've seen one or 2 dogs for adoption (with a fee) is empty so they don't have on ongoing thing with selling pets - but yes - I do think it's wrong for any breeder or whoever to ever sell pets to stores.
