she said she wouldn't be working where she is now if this little place bought from mills and stated for a fact that they do buy local only and the minute she hears they ever buy a puppy mill dog - she's outta there and I believed her and told her I was very impressed with how much she knew and stood by her morals.

Most all pet stores buy from mills but there are a few that will NOT do business with them. I don't agree with breeders selling to pet stores but it's a reality - the only good thing I can say is every time I go there if they do have puppies or kitties - they are the happiest little things and never there but for a few days at a time.

Most of the time I never see any pets there......it's a rare occasion they have them so I do go there for my pet food

if they supported mills I wouldn't step foot in the place
There are many many pet stores and pet boutiques that have no trouble staying in business without selling puppies.
No repuatable caring breeder would ever put a puppy or dog in a pet store to sell.
Who gives the interview and information about hte breed being sold? How are the puppies raised? How could the breeder ever do this and not know where that puppy went, will it end up abused, neglected, not cared for? Is there a home visit at the buyers? A pet store never does all this background work before selling a puppy and who takes it back if it doesn't work out? Ends up inthe pound or killed at the vets is my bet.
