I try to make bath day, wipe tears and eye buggers, brushing and touch-up clipping all at the same time. I usually have to capture each one for each item. Other than that, they know I am safe (except for occasional brushing). When I start giving baths, my dogs disappear until they are clean, then they stand in the bathroom with me pitying their siblings. They are so smart.
For barking, I try to answer each incident. I find if I let it go it increases rapidly, but will come under control and lessen quickly when addressed. I say 'what is it?' 'OK- Enough.' Then I Shush them. Then I get the water bottle. Everyone is quiet after that. They usually thing the shush sound is water, but when they see the bottle, they know I mean business. |
