I am so glad that you are all safe, and you reacted the way you did. Sometimes I worry that I would freeze in a situation like that. Hearing your story is a huge wake-up call for those of us who live around wildlife. We never know what will be outside our door. I am guilty of letting my dogs out and not always thinking of what may be on the deck waiting. I'm usually more worried about hawks overhead.
