I'm trying to train Charlie with both the pads and going outside. In the last 4 or 5 days, he's been doing great with going outside but not as good with the pads. Sometimes he'll pee on the pad but he'll never poop.
I made several mistakes along the way, though. The first was I didn't crate him. It felt cruel to me but now that I have read and learned more, I realize that would have been the best route to go. I also put down a lot of the pads thinking the more accessible they were to him, the better. I think, in hindsight, it was a bad idea.
He'd coming along pretty well now, though. With the kids out of school, my daughter is doing a great job of trainig all sorts of things.
