Cortney, first thing that jumps out at me is the anemia from the fleas. It takes a lot of fleas over a period of time to cause this! I would say that the first thing you really need to do is get rid of them. They can be quite a problem in this area. I would take Bella out of the house one day while an exterminator comes in to kill any that might be in your home. At the same time you are doing that, ask your vet if perhaps you can give her a dose of Capstar to kill any fleas she has on her. You must make sure she is flea free prior to returning to your home. Then, you must use a flea preventative each month! That will keep them off of her.
What heartworm and flea preventatives are you now using?
I have had many pups with elevated lipase...that alone is not always an indicator of a problem.
After being at the emergency vet, did you follow up with your regular vet? It sounds like perhaps you need to do further testing on her. There could be something going on besides the anemia that an emergency vet may not pick up on. Not sure what part of Houston you are in....but if you need referrals to vets, maybe we can help you find one if you do not have one already. If you have a good vet and feel further testing might be necessary, I highly recommend the board certified specialists at Gulf Coast Veterinary Hospital.
