The only thing I've seen concerning skin and LS/MVD is thin coat... haven't seen the skin issues you described. Not arguing, just thinking out loud.... Mine has no skin issues or allergies... her toxin overload (when it happens) manifests as Hepatic Encephalopathy.
Was she on the fish diet when the BAT was redone?
I'm not real familiar with those drugs. Off to do more research...
And concerning Daisy: Ask your vet about probiotics... might be good for her during and after all the antibiotics...
How is she doing? Sending Hugs and Prayers for you both... |
she was on the ivd white fish and potato diet I believe at the time- it was either that or the dd salmon and potato diet - I know dex was on the ivd white fish and potato diet at time he had pancreatitis

It could be the hydrolized diet of purina ha made the difference as she is on soy hydrolized diet now.
yeah read alot on liver and skin definitely can be affected but not a major side effect but since she has thyroid and allergies it all together makes it a nightmare combo
I agree on probiotics as antibiotics kill both good and bad bacteria so adding good back in will help re-balance. I always do 2 hrs after antibiotic in evening so it sits on tummy all night long to get a good balance before doing antibiotics the following evening. It really does help and i double up while on antibiotics as well then i do that for 2 weeks after antibiotic is stopped then back down to normal probiotics - it made a huge difference when dd was on clindamycin - no diarrhea
