i've had that problem with Logan but he's still a young pup so i'm not too worried about it. he was in mid chew when he started barking at me for having a bowl of raw carrots. i just tell him to go away. he'll wait a second or two just to see if i'll change my mind and then he'll trot on his way.

my other dogs know the deal and a few of them go as far as to leave the room when i eat. most of them will turn their backs to me and lay down.

the only thing that i enforce once they get older is that they are not allowed to be within an outstretched legs distance from me when i eat. that way i don't have to worry about guests having a whiny dog begging for food or jumping up on them. or if they drop food on the floor they don't have to worry about losing a finger to a scavenger puppy
