i used to use pee pads but as you said, they're expensive. so i decided to litterbox train them. depending on if you want to purchase one of the top of the line you don't even have to empty it, only wash it out because it has a hose for dumping waste straight to the toilet.
but i didn't need the bells and whistles so i just got a large gardening potter tray (more than enough room for two to go at the same time) and lined the bottom with clumping kitty litter and fake grass on the top. i find it to be much cheaper. and it doesn't take up any more room than a pee pad would.
i picked the planter over a regular cat litter box because it has a front slope threshold so they can just walk right in instead of having to jump in and out. |
