I guess do what she says but fish is the most highly digestible protein and lowest in protein along with soy. Liver disease dogs are on either fish or vegetarian diets.
There is a reason dr dodds diet is called the liver cleansing diet
If liver enzymes are high then liver cleansing diet is what is needed.
Most vets do not know about nutrition sadly
some use rc hepatic and many do not like the hill's L/D as too high in fat for a yorkie but since she is not a yorkie may be ok
