I try really hard to stay away from the obvious postings where there are people breeding with little to no knowledge of breeding, or the ones that are purposely breeding mixed breeds. I do read them and shake my head in wonder at where the OP's mind is when they make the statement of please no bashing or negative comments. All I can say is please remove your rose colored glasses. If you start a thread asking for advice or help then you will get it but please don't assume that anyone who cares about this breed is going to pat you on the back and tell you everything will be just fine. If you wanted that then you've obviously come to the wrong place. I can see why long time breeders are hesitant to post helpful replies. Anyway this is just my venting and blowing off steam. |
if you read what is quoted and the post I made in the thread you started that is the extent of my advice to you. If you came here for advice then you should be open to the advice you've been given. Sorry I doubt you will get the responses you want unless it's the ones that go with your line of thinking on the matter. There is the right way and the wrong way to go about breeding. If you decide to go about it the right way there are many knowledgeable people here that will help you.
But if you decide to continue in the direction your going then you do so at the risk of your female. As far as people having to start from somewhere. Well me personally I have only been breeding for a few years but I did research, talked to breeders, and helped out with the whelping of several litters that was from 2000 to 2007. I purchased my first female in 2006 had my first litter late 2007. Lost a litter in 2008 watched my female attack one of her pups from the previous litter, took any and all advice to try and get control of the situation but nothing helped. I had to rehome her to an only dog home. I cried for a week. I saved my money up and bought another female Showed her in AKC and UKC shows. She had her first litter last year. And she is hopefully expecting a litter in August. So please pardon me if I don't share in your excitement or agree with your reasoning.
