 Stomach noises!! YES!!

I read Wylie's Mom's reply and loved it. She nailed it. I just posted on my Buddy and his IBD but didn't mention a lot of things cause I was afraid of the 'dreaded' time out that always happens to me LOL. Now, I am laughing but I wasn't earlier as you all know.
My Buddy, when having his digestive problems, IS IN PAIN. He goes off to a corner and just lies there--no appetite. Sometimes he shakes and acts spooked. I know those gurgling noises are pain. A probiotic is not going to help his pain though it will not hurt his immune system at all. When this happens to Buddy I immediately give him 1/2 a pepsid twice a day. I find that giving it to him before bed is very helpful. This is not what the holistic people call for and I don't like to do it, but after a while, it helps him. The pepsid takes care of any acidity and stops his pain. If he poops blood or mucous, I give him a low dose of flagyl for this side effect too. I don't have to do this too often but it does happen.
Please check with a nutritionist or even your vet about a diet change if something is setting your pup off...he's getting older now so even food that he used to be able to eat COULD be hard for him to digest and absorb. YorkieSue |
