She did not even know the specialty hospital in the county. I had to find it out on my own to save my dog. 4 years later Dex is doing GREAT. If i left him under her care I believe he would be DEAD. |
oh and you will love this one. The guy who bought her practice called me saying I could bring my dogs in for a free vet visit - probably bc he saw i spent $3500 with this woman before i got Dex to specialist. He was very nice and I told him straight up do you know your stuff bc I am now much more knowledgeable than i was back then and need someone who is competent to care for my dogs with health issues. She also gave my dog too high a dose of atopica for dd and i questioned it called mfg and she was wrong that was the final straw as i still gave her the benefit of the doubt with the whole dex thing as i was stupid back then. I told him here is what is going on with my dogs and I now deal mostly with specialists and rattled everything going on and we had a great conversation and he said dang you probably know more than me after talking to you wow. He mentioned he just got back from a seminar on using fat from dog to put in joints for thinks like hip and knees which costs about 3k which I was aware of as it was a year ago when dd hurt her leg that i had found this out. At least he was furthering his education which was impressive. I just told him straight up I am super skeptical now and want to know I am dealing with someone that knows there stuff now. He apologized for all I had been through and said she is no longer there and he is the owner now and he would examine dd leg for free back then. I said I will have to think about it as i prefer ortho.
The biggest thing is not the money it is the fact that I now have no TRUST. This is the scary place to be when your dog is sick and you have no one you can TRUST. Luckily there are specialists I trust 100% and will just go to them. But not everyone can afford that so I totally get where you are coming from OP.
