today we went back to petco. i was in there to redeem the gift card i won in the raffle
, but i also wanted to use it as a training opportunity since so many dogs go in there and there are smells everywhere.
this time was very different. i was watching her like a hawk and when i wanted to stop somewhere, i wouldn't allow her to roam around, i would have her sit right next to me. she was very compliant.
she did sniff around and go to mark on several occasions. i said "aaaaahhhh"!! it startled her and she immediately stopped. at least once, she just sat down instead (we've been working on the sit command, which she would do, but i would have to repeat it too many times). she did seem to get after a while that i didn't want her to do it.
so, progress, i guess....
