She treating the hook worms, plus giving him that heta starch thing you mentioned, also running a panel on malabsorbtion?? I asked about plasma, she said if he needs it, he would go to lehigh valley hospital to a specialist who is wonderful with plasma stuff. She also said about poss. bone marrow issues and blood dyscrasias. I am supposed to call her from work tomorrow at 9:30 gor updates. If he takes a turn for the worse she'll call me, I don't like that sentence. He's on a pump right now resting, she can't flood him with fluids so he doesn't start with cardiac issues. My daughter said bone marrow issues are painful and tucker shouldn't go through that. Please get back to me.
I really do not think this is bone marrow issue -- you may want to have her consult with internal medicine specialist at that other hospital to get a second opinion on this so they can work together on this asap. It sounds like she is a good vet if willing to keep him with her 24/7 as that is going above and beyond but she may need to be consulting a specialist with this. Low low protein is of concern - lipase has to do with enzymes digesting fats. WBC count is high due to infection and this can happen with pancreas as well as lipase involves the pancreas so EPI can be of concern did she run the TLI? TLI will rule out EPI - sounds like with that fecal there is alot going on with that as well. Sounds like she is on top of things but she may need some consultations with internal medicine as sounds like alot is going on so tell her you are willing to pay for consult with internal medicine specialist at that hospital that does plasma transfusion if that will help your dog. Plasma sometimes has better effect on these dogs with low protein than hepastarch as i know the plasma helped more than the hepastarch for my friends dog with ple.

Hang in there and keep us posted
