Nope, not at all. Trust me, my dads dogs still bark.
It's just a fast way to stop them, and they don't do so much
unnecessary barking. There was a thread here on YT not too long ago and 99% of people here who bought it said it worked great! Also, my dads Doxy mix barks at other dogs on walks and my stepmom brought it along and he stopped! Also, a stray dog came towards her and she pushed the button and the dog went in the opposite direction!
