I agree with you on this one. Our local news reminds the public
almost daily
and yet it still happens. I think they said that the temperature in the car can change as much as 45 degrees in the summer. Yet people still leave kids and pets in the car. DUH! I don't even like to close the windows all the way when I get out because the car gets too hot for me when I go to get back in!
Another thing that happens so often around here and is preventable is kids drowning.
I don't understand it. I don't leave my dogs in the bathtub without me being right there... I can't imagine having a pool with no fence (as required) and having a toddler able to get outside by him/herself.
Gates, locked doors, discipline....
I remember some 20+ years ago that my daughter used to like to practice being Houdini. Seriously, at 2 yrs old she would move chairs to climb up so that she could get on the counter, which made it easier for her to get ON TOP of the refrigerator!!!
(good hiding place for hide n seek). Seriously, we ended up buying some contraption that was battery operated and hung on the door (front & back) and it would make a terrible high pitched alarm-type sound when it was moved. It wasn't anything fancy but it did let us know that she was about to start her adventure.
