My concern is that if I am home all day for the first few weeks, it would become used to it and get stressed out about suddenly being left home alone for 9 hours daily. Would this actually be a problem or am I over-thinking it?
I am glad you are over-thinking it. Most people dive in without giving any thought to it. I think now is a great time to find a pup that is 12 weeks or over. You will have 2 months together for bonding and training. My only concern is when you return to work, 9 hours alone is too long. Can you come home for lunch and let him or her out? Good Luck with your search.
