Thank you both for your replies. As far as I know, the pup has been at the vet all day & has been receiving an IV with stuff to increase the blood sugar. The vet has tried to coax the pup to eat but has not succeeded. That is why the pup is staying the night with the vet tonight. So, they are trying to get her to eat but she just isn't eating.
As far as her being "better", I'm just repeating what's being told to me. She said she's lifting her head & standing more. She still sounds very weak to me, though. The breeder took the mom to the vet's office this afternoon to let them be together & see if the pup would nurse...but she wouldn't even nurse. The mom has been weaning them anyway, but I guess they were hoping to get something in the puppy.
I just don't know. Even if I don't choose this pup, I want her to recover & be healthy. I hate to see any little one struggling with an illness. I am hoping for some better answers when we go see these babies this weekend. I'm just torn as to what to do if I see her and fall in love... |
