Reminds me of a time when I was in a vet's office (not my usual vet). There was a lady who had brought in a 7-8 week old Yorkie pup for its shots. Of course, I was checking out the puppy and I was disgusted b/c it seemed very sickly and could barely hold its own head up! She was proud to announce that she got the puppy and planned on breeding it!!!! I told her an ethical breeder would keep the puppy longer and would discourage breeding, etc and that she didn't know what the dog would like full grown.... she was very defensive and had definitely made up her mind. Even more sad, the lady had a girl around 10 years old with her who was happily chiming in with her and she was being taught this was RIGHT and OK.
I was fuming by the time I left and it makes me scared to think of how the puppy is doing now.
