Couple of questions I forgot!!!

Should my second be a puppy or an older puppy or a mature dog? I've also thought about a rescue. (Though I think rescue organizations insist you have a fenced yard, and I don't. But I also don't take them out without a lease (even just to play in the yard with me, I still put the leash on.)
