I think you are being an excellent doggy parent. Your dog needs you and depends on you. You are doing what is best for your dog. I hope you can explain to them that a tiny puppy is like a preemie infant. If they cannot understand your situation well it is too bad for them. It is always best to be a doting owner than a neglectful owner. Just remind them that you have a loving heart towards animals. Who can hate on that?
