I watched it this week and had the same thoughts -- gorgeous and a little slow, but not painfully so. The actors, sets, and costumes were enough to keep me entertained.
So sad that Heath Ledger is gone. Loved him as the Joker in Batman.
With the limited selection of DVDs to rent, I went digging in my own collection this week and pulled out "Chocolat." I could listen to Johnny say "I'll come around some time and get that squeak out of your door" a million times.
