this is just getting ridiculous.
Deb, no one is telling you to change your ways. you are free to do what you want with your pets and to listen to your vets and specialists. that is fine and great that you are listening to your vets who give you information about your dogs.
i think this all boils down to you telling people to not do something just because you or your vet don't do it or agree with it. Cystos are done by many vets to get sterile accurate urine samples. metacam is given to many dogs and they have no side effects (with or without food, before feeding, while feeding or after feeding, with a snack or with a meal). Rimadyl is also given to many dogs without causing side effects. Distemper combo vaccines are given instead of 3-4 individual ones and no reactions occur.
Things can happen and there are always risks in medicine whether its for people or animals. Researching and learning about what is best for your pet is excellent. Hearing both sides to an discussion is very valuable because it allows people to make their own decision and then discuss with their vets.
however telling people to disregard things or not do them, even if their vet tells them to is just plain wrong. if a person has a question or concern about something their vet told them or something their vet prescribed then they should ask the vet, or get a second opinion from another vet.
