make sure when you give the metacam do it mid meal in case they did not tell you so you give 1/2 meal then metacam and then 1/2 meal as that is the safest way for him to get it. Yes make sure to follow pain meds so he does not have any pain as once they wear off it takes a while for them to kick in so you do not want him in any pain
I learned about pain meds after i ruptured my achilles and had surgery and they said never let them wear off
